    1. Whichaway - Sleeping Pod

Whichaway Camp features six heated ‘polar pods’ with cutting-edge exteriors and old-world interiors that evoke the spirit of Antarctica’s rich history of exploration.

Each guest pod includes a spacious glass-front conservatory, offering uninterrupted views of the dramatic ice-scape beyond. This new addition provides a warm, protective space from which guests can admire the panoramic vistas of the lake and surrounding icefall, all from the comfort of their duvet. Each of the six pods also boasts its own ensuite shower, offering a new level of privacy - a first for Antarctica.

    2. Echo - Sleeping Pods

Futuristic and luxurious, Echo sits in quiet solitude encircled by pitted rock formations. Inspired by the seminal age of Space exploration, Echo Camp is as close as you can get to feeling like you’re off the planet without leaving Earth.

The space-age design of the ‘Sky Pods’ makes them look as if they’ve been beamed down from Mars. Futuristic and luxurious, the six bedrooms are built from composite materials and feature floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing guests to soak in the moon-like landscape beyond.

Ideal for exclusive-use groups and accommodating up to 12 people, Echo offers the rare chance to pair an ultra-luxury experience with a once-in-a-lifetime adventure on the 7th Continent. As with all of White Desert’s camps, Echo is designed to be completely dismantled, leaving no trace on the pristine Antarctic landscape.

Being the only company in the world to fly a luxury private aircraft to Antarctica, our emphasis has always been on luxury and safety. That same commitment extends to the ski-equipped aircraft that we use in the interior.

WHITE DESERT'S camps each have their own trauma Doctor on-site for the entire season. They are fully equipped with comprehensive medical supplies, as well as an oxygen and hyperbaric chamber, and the Doctor travels with guests to the South Pole and the Emperor penguin colonies in case of any health issues related to the high altitude and challenging environmental conditions of Antarctica.

All of WHITE DESERT'S guides are UIAGM-qualified and have been fully trained in first aid and rescue procedures, as have other key members of staff.

Satellite communications are available on all expeditions as well as in camp.

WHITE DESERT has comprehensive Search & Rescue capabilities with back-up aircraft based in Cape Town and in Antarctica, as well as a fleet of surface vehicles. It also has mutual support agreements with other operators in Antarctica.

Operating its own fleet of aircraft gives WHITE DESERT speed and flexibility, should it ever come to evacuating a guest or a member of staff to Cape Town.

White Desert is dedicated to protecting Antarctica's environment by minimizing our ecological impact, supporting scientific research, and preserving its unique wildlife and landscapes. Our operations prioritize sustainability, ensuring no lasting footprint is left.

Our camps are temporary structures, easily dismantled with no environmental impact. We follow strict environmental mitigation measures outlined in our Initial Environmental Examinations (IEEs) and implement Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) with regular monitoring to minimize long-term effects.

Since 2007, we have been fully carbon neutral, the only air operator in Antarctica with this status. We continually enhance sustainability efforts, including trialing Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to reduce emissions and set a new industry standard.

In the last five years, we’ve expanded our role by transporting over 150 scientists each season to research bases, supporting critical scientific work whilst sharing efficient logistics.

White Desert also focuses on responsible tourism, with a mission to inspire guests to become Antarctic Ambassadors. We believe that experiencing Antarctica fosters a deep commitment to its conservation. As Sir David Attenborough said, "No one will protect what they don't care about, and no one will care about what they have never experienced."

Through eco-conscious operations, carbon neutrality, and support for research, White Desert sets the standard for sustainable tourism in Antarctica.
